  • 6 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 2 Tbsp. shortening
  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 c. light corn syrup
  • 3 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. coarsely chopped pecans
  • 1 unbaked 9-inch deep dish pie shell

Directions

    Add cocoa, shortening and butter and melt over hot water. Combine sugar and syrup in saucepan. Bring to a quick boil for 2 minutes. Add cocoa mixture. Pour slowly over eggs, stirring constantly. Add vanilla and pecans; mix well. Pour into pie shell. Bake at 375° for 45 to 50 minutes.
