Chocolate Pie

Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 1/2 c. milk
  • 2 squares chocolate
  • 3 egg yolks, slightly beaten
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Combine sugar, flour and salt in top of double boiler.

    Add milk gradually.

    Add chocolate and cook over boiling water until chocolate is melted and mixture is thick, stirring constantly. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

    Pour small amount over egg yolks.

    Return to double boiler and cook 2 minutes longer. Remove from heat and add butter and vanilla.

    Put in pie shell and cool.

    Top with whipped cream.
