  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 7 scant Tbsp. flour
  • 3 scant Tbsp. cocoa
  • 2 c. milk
  • 3 egg yolks, beaten
  • 1 Tbsp. butter or oleo
  • 1 baked 9-inch pie shell
  • 3 egg whites
  • 3 scant Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring

Directions

    Mix sugar, flour, cocoa, milk, egg yolks and butter in medium saucepan.

    Cook until thick.

    Pour into a baked pie shell.

    Make meringue by beating egg whites with sugar until stiff peaks form; fold in vanilla.

    Spread meringue on pie and brown in a 400° oven.
