Ingredients

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/3 c. flour
  • 1 c. milk
  • 2 egg yolks, beaten
  • 1/3 c. cocoa
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 baked pie shell

Directions

    Mix together the sugar and flour.

    Add milk and cook in double boiler until thick.

    Remove from heat and add egg yolks.

    Mix cocoa with enough boiling water to form paste and add to mixture. Return to heat and cook until thick.

    Remove from heat and add butter and vanilla.

    Cool and pour into baked crust.

    Top with 2 egg whites (beaten stiff) and brown in oven at 325°.
