- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1/3 c. cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 (13 oz.) can evaporated milk
- 1 1/3 c. water
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla
- 2 sq. (1 oz. each) unsweetened chocolate
- 1 (9-inch) deep dish pie shell, baked
Directions

1Mix the sugar, cornstarch and salt in large saucepan. Gradually stir in evaporated milk and water.

2Add chocolate.

3Cook and stir over medium heat until chocolate is completely melted and mixture boils.

4Boil 1 minute; remove from heat and stir in vanilla.

5Pour into crust.

6Chill pie at least 2 hours before serving.

7Serve topped with meringue or whipped topping.
