Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups milk (seperated)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 Tlb. cornstarch or 4 Tlb. flour
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 2 egg yolks (beaten)
  • 2 Tlb. butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla favoring
  • 9 in. pie sheel
  • Meringue

Directions

    Scald 2 cups of milk.

    Mix sugar, cornstarch/flour, salt, cocoa and 1/4 cup milk.

    Add mixture to scalded milk.

    Cook and stir constantly over low heat about 15 min.

    Add egg yolks adn cook for 3 min.

    Remove from heat and beat in butter and vanilla flavoring.

    Pour into pie shell and top with meringue.

    Brown in oven for 15 min. at 300 degrees.
