  • 1 c. sugar
  • 3 heaping Tbsp. chocolate
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 2 1/4 c. milk
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla
  • pinch of salt
  • 3 well beaten egg yolks

Directions

    In saucepan, mix sugar, salt, flour, chocolate and cornstarch. Mix well before adding milk to mixture.

    Add milk and cook on medium heat, stirring constantly.

    After mixture heats through, add cup of mixture to beaten egg yolks.

    Then return to pan and cook until smooth and thick.

    Remove from stove, add butter and vanilla.

    Pour into baked pie shell and top with meringue, beaten well.

    Bake in 325° oven until brown.
