- 1 c. butter or margarine
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 3 c. sugar
- 5 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 3 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 4 Tbsp. cocoa (may be heaping)
- 1 c. milk
Directions

1Cream butter and shortening; add sugar and mix well.

2Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.

3Add vanilla; combine dry ingredients and add alternately with milk to creamed mixture.

4Bake in a greased 10-inch tube pan at 325° for about one hour and 20 minutes.

5Yields one 10-inch cake.
