Chocolate Pound Cake

  • 2 sticks butter
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. plain flour
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 5 eggs
  • 1/4 c. milk
  • 1 1/2 c. chopped pecans
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 1/2 c. cocoa
  • 1 1/2 c. self-rising flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 small pkg. instant chocolate pudding

Directions

    Cream Crisco and butter; add sugar continuing to cream.

    Add eggs, one at a time, beating well together with each addition. Add 1 1/2 cups of the flour, cocoa, pudding, salt, baking powder, sour cream and milk, continuing beating all the time.

    Add the rest of the flour and the vanilla.

    Stir in the nuts with a spoon. Bake in a tube pan at 325° for 1 hour and 25 minutes or until done.

    Let cake cool in the pan and it will be moist.
