Chocolate Pound Cake

  • 1/2 lb. butter (use margarine)
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 3 c. flour
  • 5 eggs
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 c. cocoa
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Cream margarine and shortening with sugar.

    Add eggs, one at a time.

    Blend well after each one.

    Sift together dry ingredients and add alternately with milk and vanilla. Pour batter into greased and floured tube pan.

    Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 30 minutes.

    (I put flavoring in milk.)
