  • 3 c. flour
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1/2 c. cocoa
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 1/4 c. milk

    Cream butter, sugar and Crisco.

    Sift dry ingredients together. Add eggs one at a time, then dry ingredients alternately with milk and vanilla.

    Bake for 1 1/2 hours in a greased and floured tube pan at 325°.
