  • 1/2 lb. butter (2 sticks)
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 4 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla

Directions

    Cream together butter and shortening.

    Add sugar and eggs. Sift dry ingredients and add alternately with milk to creamed mixture.

    Add vanilla.

    Bake in a 9 to 10-inch tube pan at 350° for 1 1/2 hours or until done.

    Don't look at the cake for 1 hour.
