- 1 tablespoon dry yeast
- 2 cups hot water
- 12 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup cold water
- 7 -8 cups whole wheat flour
- 14 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons shortening
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 12 cup dry milk
Directions

1Mix yeast and warm water and set aside.

2Pour hot water over shortening, sugar and salt.

3Mix dry milk with 1 cup whole wheat flour, add hot water mixture and 1 cup cold water, then add yeast mixture.

4Add 6-7 cups of whole wheat flour.

5Knead until smooth and elastic and let rise almost double--then time as follows:.

6Let rise 40 minuets- punch down; 20 minuets - punch down; 20 minuets punch down.

7Shape in 3 loaves and place in 3 small greased bread pans.

8Allow to rise until double in bulk.

9Bake at 375F for 40-45 minutes.
