  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 3 c. flour
  • 4 rounded Tbsp. cocoa
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 c. evaporated milk
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 Tbsp. vanilla

    Sift dry ingredients together.

    Cream butter, Crisco and sugar; add eggs, one a time.

    Beat well.

    Add alternately milk and dry ingredients.

    Beat on low speed.

    Bake in tube pan about 1 hour and 20 minutes at 325°.
