- 2 sticks margarine
- 1/2 c. vegetable shortening
- 3 c. sugar
- 3 c. sifted flour
- 1/2 c. cocoa
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 5 eggs
- 1 1/4 c. sweet milk
- pinch of salt
Directions

1Cream shortening and sugar.

2Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

3Sift flour, baking powder, salt and cocoa together; then sift 3 more times.

4Add milk and flour mixture alternately.

5Add vanilla.

6Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 10 minutes or until done.
