- 1/2 lb. margarine (2 sticks)
- 1/2 c. vegetable shortening
- 3 c. sugar
- 5 eggs
- 3 c. flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 c. cocoa
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 1/4 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Cream margarine and shortening, adding sugar gradually.

2Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

3Sift together three times the flour, baking powder, cocoa and salt. Add to mixture alternately with the milk.

4Add vanilla.

5Pour batter into a large tube pan that has been greased and dusted with flour.

6Bake at 325° for 1 1/2 hours.
