- 1/2 lb. or 1 c. butter
- 3/4 c. shortening
- 3 c. sugar
- 5 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. soda
- 3/4 c. cocoa
- 5 c. plain flour
- 1 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Have eggs and butter at room temperature.

2Cream together butter and shortening.

3Add sugar and whip until fluffy.

4Beat eggs one at a time into mixture; mix well.

5Place all dry ingredients into sifter.

6Sift into creamy mixture and add buttermilk.

7Mix well.

8Grease and flour tube pan.

9Bake at 350° for one hour and five minutes.
