- 1 c. butter
- 3 c. sugar
- 3 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. milk
- 1 c. shortening
- 5 eggs
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 5 Tbsp. cocoa
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Preheat oven to 325°

2Cream together butter, shortening and sugar.

3Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.

4Mix in separate bowl, flour, salt, baking powder and cocoa.

5Add dry ingredients alternately with milk and vanilla, beating after each addition.

6Grease and flour a 10-inch tube pan.

7Pour batter into pan and bake 1 1/2 hours.

8This cake doesn't need frosting, but the Chocolate Gloss can be added if desired.
