- 2 sticks margarine
- 1/2 c. vegetable shortening
- 3 c. granulated sugar
- 5 eggs
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 3 c. sifted flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. cocoa
- 1 c. milk
Directions

1Cream together 2 sticks margarine and 1/2 cup vegetable shortening.

2Add, gradually, 3 cups granulated sugar.

3Add 5 eggs, one at a time, beating well after each.

4Add 2 teaspoons vanilla. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and cocoa.

5Add dry ingredients alternately with 1 cup milk, beating well after each addition.

6Begin and end with dry ingredients.

7Bake in a well-greased and floured large tube pan at 325° for 1 1/2 hours. Cool in pan.
