  • 3 c. flour
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. cocoa
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1 1/4 c. sweet milk
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. salt

    Cream butter and Crisco with sugar.

    Add eggs, one at a time, and blend after each one.

    Sift all dry ingredients and add alternately with milk.

    Add vanilla.

    Cook in greased and floured tube pan at 325° for 1 hour and 25 minutes.
