  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 2 c. whipping cream
  • 1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 c. coarsely chopped pecans
  • 1 (18 1/4 oz.) pkg. devil's food cake mix with pudding
  • 1 1/4 c. water
  • 1/3 c. oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/4 c. confectioners sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. vanilla
  • whole pecans for garnish (optional)
  • chocolate curls for garnish (optional)

Directions

    Heat oven to 325°.

    In a small, heavy saucepan, combine butter, 1/4 cup whipping cream and the brown sugar.

    Cook over low heat just until butter melts, stirring occasionally.

    Divide mixture between two 9-inch round cake pans.
