  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 3 1/2 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 2 unbeaten eggs
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Mix sugar and flour in bowl. Put margarine, cocoa, water and shortening in pan and let come to a boil. Pour over dry ingredients. Beat together and add buttermilk, eggs, soda and vanilla. Grease and flour sheet cake pan, 11 x 16-inches. Bake at 400° for 20 minutes.
