  • 2 c. cake flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 3 1/2 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

  1. 1
    Mix flour and sugar together; set aside. Mix margarine, shortening, water and cocoa in saucepan and allow to come to a boil. Pour over the flour mixture and mix well. Beat buttermilk, eggs, vanilla, salt and soda together. Add to the flour mixture and stir well. Pour into a greased and floured 11 x 11 pan. Bake at 400° about 20 minutes.
