Chocolate Syrup

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3.5 oz high quality cocoa powder

Directions

    Place 1 cup water in a pan with the sugar and a pinch of salt and heat gently, stirring until the sugar has dissolved. Bring the mixture to a boil, without stirring, and continue to boil for 2-3 mins until syrupy.

    Carefully whisk in the cocoa powder and cook over low heat for 5 mins, stirring constantly. While the syrup is still hot, carefully pour into 2 sterilized 1 cup jars. Seal and leave to cool. Store in the fridge for 2-3 weeks. Serve warm or cold.
