Chocolate Turtles

  • 150 pecan halves (about 3 c.)
  • 50 caramels
  • 8 oz. semi-sweet chocolate

Directions

    Preheat oven to 300°.

    On greased baking sheets, arrange the pecan halves in groups of 3, flat side down, in Y shapes.

    Place a caramel on top of each cluster.

    Place in oven until the caramels soften, about 5 to 8 minutes.

    Remove from oven and flatten the caramels over the pecans with a buttered spoon.

    Cool slightly. Melt the chocolate using a double boiler over simmering water. Dip the turtles into the chocolate and cool on wax paper.

    Store in tightly covered containers in a cool place.
