- 1 1/2 c. unsifted flour
- 3/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. cloves
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 c. sugar
- 3/4 c. corn oil
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. peeled and coarsely chopped apples (about 2 medium)
- 1/2 c. chopped walnuts
Directions

1Grease and flour a loaf pan (8 1/2 x 4 x 2 1/2-inch).

2On wax paper thoroughly stir together the flour baking soda, salt and spices.

3In a large mixing bowl beat together until smooth the sugar, corn oil, eggs and vanilla.

4Slowly beat in the flour mixture; stir in apples and nuts.

5Turn into prepared pan.

6Bake in a preheated 350° oven until a cake tester inserted in center comes out clean, 1 1/4 hours.

7Cool on wire rack 10 minutes, then turn out on pan.

8Cool completely before slicing.
