Ingredients

  • 2 qt. green tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 qt. onion, chopped
  • 1 small cabbage, chopped
  • 1 qt. green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 qt. vinegar
  • 4 c. sugar
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp. celery seed
  • 2 Tbsp. prepared mustard
  • 2 Tbsp. pickling spices, tied up in cheesecloth

Directions

    Mix first four vegetables.

    Sprinkle 2 tablespoons salt over and let stand 2 to 3 hours.

    Mix well again.

    Squeeze out vegetables (by hand).
