  • 2 qt. finely chopped cabbage
  • 1 qt. peeled and chopped green tomatoes
  • 6 medium onions, chopped
  • 4 green peppers, coarsely chopped
  • 2 red peppers, coarsely chopped
  • 2 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. pickling salt
  • 6 c. 5% vinegar, divided
  • 2 Tbsp. prepared mustard
  • 1 1/2 tsp. ground turmeric
  • 1 tsp. mixed pickling spices
  • 1 Tbsp. ground ginger
