Ingredients

  • 8 c. chopped cabbage
  • 2 medium chopped green peppers
  • 1 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 2 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. celery seed
  • 1/2 c. white mustard seed
  • 1/2 c. black mustard seed
  • 1/2 to 1 c. sugar
  • 1 qt. vinegar (more or less)

Directions

    Mix first four ingredients.

    Leave 1 hour, then drain for 3 hours.

    Heat remaining ingredients to boiling.

    Put the vegetables in jars, pour vinegar mix over vegetables and cover tightly.

    Can put jalapeno peppers and red pepper to taste. Great for eating with beans and rice.
