Ingredients

  • 4 c. green tomatoes
  • 4 c. chopped cabbage
  • 4 c. onions
  • 1/4 c. salt
  • 6 c. sugar
  • 4 c. cider vinegar
  • 2 c. water
  • 1 Tbsp. pickling spices

Directions

    Cut up vegetables.

    Sprinkle with salt.

    Cover and let stand overnight in refrigerator.

    Next day, rinse vegetables well. Combine vinegar, water, sugar and spices in pot and let these come to a boil, then add chopped vegetables.

    Let boil and simmer 30 minutes.

    Seal in clean jars.

    Makes 8 pints.
