- 3 heads cabbage
- 1 peck green tomatoes
- 12 to 15 sweet green peppers
- 2 to 3 pods hot pepper
- 2 onions (optional)
- 2 Tbsp. pickling spice
- 2 Tbsp. celery seed
- 1 Tbsp. ground cinnamon
- 1 lb. brown sugar
- vinegar
Directions

1Chop first 5 ingredients.

2Sprinkle with salt and let stand overnight.

3Drain.

4Tie pickling spices, celery seed and cinnamon in a thin cloth.

5Mix brown sugar with enough vinegar to cover cabbage mixture.

6Cook only until tender.

7Pack into sterilized jars and seal.

8Process for 10 minutes at simmering temperature (about 200°).

9Makes 12 to 14 pints.
