Ingredients

  • 7 large onions
  • 1 medium cabbage
  • 10 green tomatoes
  • 12 green peppers
  • 6 sweet red peppers
  • 1/2 c. pickling salt
  • 6 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. mustard seed
  • 1 Tbsp. celery seed
  • 1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
  • 4 c. cider vinegar
  • 2 c. water

    Wash vegetables.

    Using a coarse blade, grind them up. Sprinkle with pickling salt and let stand overnight.

    Rinse and drain.

    Bring to a boil all other ingredients and boil 5 minutes. Fill jars and seal.

    Process in boiling water bath 5 minutes. Makes 9 pints.
