Ingredients
- 3 lb. cubed beef
- 1 clove minced garlic
- 1 can beef consomme
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce (no added salt)
- pepper to taste
- 1 or 2 bay leaves
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp. thyme
- 3/4 to 1 lb. carrots
- 5 or 6 potatoes
- 1 (8 oz.) can green beans
Directions

1Brown meat in a large pot, then add garlic and saute.

2Add next 6 ingredients and add enough water to cover.

3Simmer until the meat is tender.

4Peel and cut the raw vegetables, then add to stew with drained beans.

5Cook until vegetables are also tender. Remove the bay leaves before serving.
