Christmas Egg Dish

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. Bulk Sausage (I use Bob Evans)
  • 9 Eggs
  • 3 Cups Milk
  • 12 slices Bread (cubed & crust removed )
  • 1 1/2 Cups Sharp Cheddar Cheese, chopped
  • 1 1/2 tsp. Dry Mustard
  • 1 tsp, Salt
  • 1/4 tsp. Black Pepper

Directions

    Brown & drain sausage, then cool

    Beat eggs and milk. Add salt, pepper and mustard. Fold in bread cubes. Fold in sausage and cheese. Pour into 9X13 greased baking dish and refrigerate overnight. Take out 1 hour before baking.

    Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Cool 10 minutes of so before serving.

    Option: For a smaller dish I use 6 eggs, lb. sausage, 8 slices of bread and 2 cups of milk. You can also use grated cheese, although we like the chunks better. I bake it in a 6X9 dish. I use the other 1/2 lb. of sausage in the stuffing for the turkey
