  • 1 (11 oz.) pkg. dried apricots
  • 1 (30 oz.) can pineapple chunks
  • 3 1/2 c. water
  • 1 (8 oz.) jar maraschino cherries
  • 6 c. sugar
  • 1 c. chopped nuts (optional)

Directions

    In large pan, combine apricots, pineapple and syrup, water and cherry syrup.

    Let stand 1 hour, then cook slowly until apricots are tender.

    Add sugar; cook slowly, stirring often, until thick (216°).

    Cut cherries in quarters; add and cook a few minutes longer.

    Pour into hot, sterilized jars and seal.

    Makes 6 1/2 pints.
