- 4 Tbsp. alum
- 4 Tbsp. salt
- 4 c. vinegar
- cucumbers
- 6 c. sugar
- 8 Tbsp. water
Directions

1Mix the first 4 ingredients well; pour over gallon jar full of washed, whole cucumbers.

2Finish filling jar with water.

3Seal; let stand until December.

4Remove cucumbers from jars and rinse them.

5Throw away the brine.

6Slice cucumbers; put into canning jars.

7Mix the sugar and water; pour over cucumbers in jars.

8They are ready to be eaten the next day.

9Do not refrigerate after opening.
