- cucumbers
- 4 c. vinegar
- 4 Tbsp. alum
- 4 Tbsp. salt
- 8 Tbsp. pickling spices
- 8 c. sugar
- 7 Tbsp. water
Directions

1Wash and pack cucumbers (small) in gallon jar or container with tight lid.

2Add vinegar, alum, salt and pickling spices.

3Put all in jar and finish filling jar with water so pickles are covered.

4Shake well and leave in jar until before Christmas. Open near Christmas and wash pickles well.

5Slice and put back in clean jar.

6Add sugar and water; stir until sugar is all dissolved (daily).

7Keep in refrigerator.

8I transfer to small jars after sugar is dissolved.

9I make them up about August or September when pickles are in.
