- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup butter
- 12 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups breadcrumbs
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups currants
- 1 12 cups raisins
- 34 cup molasses
- 13 cup almonds, chopped
- 12 cup carrot, grated
- 12 cup citrus peel, candied
- 14 cup brandy
- 12 cup milk
- 12 teaspoon honey
- 12 apple, grated
- 12 teaspoon nutmeg
- 12 teaspoon allspice
Directions

1clean fruit, grate carrot, chop nuts and peel.

2Beat egge.

3cream butter and sugar, gradually add eggs.

4Cream until mixture is very liquid.

5Stir in mixed flour and bread crumbs, then remaining ingredients.

6Mix thoughly.

7Pour into well greased baisins (use 2 metal bowls that hold about 3 cups each).

8Cover with cheese cloth or wax paper.

9Steam 6 to 9 hours or boil 4-6 hours.

10Store for several weeks before serving.

11To serve: reheat by steaming and serve with custard or brandy butter (brandy, butter and powdered sugar mixed to a very thick frosting).
