Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 lb. steak (beef, pork or venison)
- 1 large onion
- 1 large green pepper
- 2 to 3 cloves garlic
- 1/4 tsp. cumin
- 1/2 tsp. basil
- 1/2 tsp. chili powder
- 2 bay leaves
- 1/4 tsp. celery seed
- 2 cans beans (pinto or kidney)
- 2 cans whole peeled tomatoes
- 1 fresh jalapeno pepper
- salt and pepper
- 1/4 tsp. ground cayenne pepper
- Texas Pete or Tabasco
Directions

1Cut steak into cubes and small strips.

2Cube onion and green pepper.

3In a large frying pan, brown all the meat with 1/2 of the onion and green pepper over low heat.

4As the meat is browning, add chili powder, basil, celery seed and 1/2 of the garlic.

5Add salt, pepper and Texas Pete to taste.

6Also add cumin and cayenne pepper.

7Cut jalapeno into rings and add to meat as it cooks.
