Chuck Wagon Chili

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground chuck
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 14 oz. can kidney beans and juice
  • 10 oz. can mushrooms and juice
  • 6 hot dogs, cut in 1/4-inch slices (optional)
  • 2 medium carrots, sliced thin
  • 10 oz. can tomato soup
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp. chili powder

Directions

    Brown beef in pan and drain any grease.

    Add remaining ingredients; stir and bring to a boil.

    Let simmer, covered, for an hour.

    Add water if it appears dry and thick.

    Taste and add more chili powder, if desired.

    (May be cooked in a slow cooker all day.)
