Ingredients

  • 2 gal. large cukes, peeled, cored and sliced
  • 2 c. lime
  • 8 1/2 qt. water
  • 1 c. vinegar
  • 1 oz. red food coloring
  • 1 Tbsp. alum
  • enough water to cover cukes
  • 2 c. water
  • 10 c. sugar
  • 7 1/2 oz. cinnamon red hot candies
  • 5 sticks cinnamon
  • 2 c. vinegar

Directions

    Bring the ingredients to a boil; add cukes and let set overnight.

    Bring to a boil again.

    Let set to room temperature. Bring to a boil again, put in jars and seal.

    Makes about 10 pints.
