Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. yeast, dissolved in 1/4 c. warm water
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1/4 c. milk
  • 1/4 c. margarine
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 3 1/2 to 4 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. raisins
  • small amount margarine
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • water

Directions

    Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup warm water.

    Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of sugar over yeast and water.

    Let stand 5 minutes while warming. When cooled add milk, 1/4 cup margarine, 1/4 cup sugar, salt and beaten egg.

    Gradually add flour.

    Add enough flour to make soft dough and knead until smooth.

    Turn into buttered bowl and let rise until double.
