Ingredients

  • 1 scant qt. flour, sifted
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 cake yeast
  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 3/4 c. melted Crisco
  • 1 1/2 c. lukewarm water
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • melted butter
  • brown sugar
  • cinnamon
  • chopped nuts

Directions

    Mix dry ingredients.

    Add yeast which has been dissolved in 1/2 cup warm water and 1 tablespoon sugar.

    Mix in Crisco and milk.

    Add eggs and mix well.

    Let rise until double its size. Roll out flat and spread on top with melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon and nuts.

    Roll up as for jelly roll and cut into slices. Place in greased muffin pans and let rise.

    Bake in hot oven.
