- 2 c. scalded milk, cooled
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- flour
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 eggs, beaten well
Directions

1Add yeast and sugar to cooled milk.

2Add enough flour to make a thin batter; let rise until light.

3Cream sugar, shortening and salt.

4Beat eggs well.

5Add creamed mixture and well beaten eggs to the sponge.

6Add flour enough to make stiff dough.

7Let rise in warm place until doubled.

8Roll dough 1/4-inch thick.

9Brush with melted butter and sugar-cinnamon mixture.

10Roll like jelly roll and cut 1/4-inch to 1/2-inch slices.

11Place cut side up on cookie sheet and let rise until double.

12Always cover dough while rising. Bake at 375° for 20 minutes.

13Frost.
