- 11 ounces black cherries (about 2 cups )
- 13 cup all-purpose flour
- 14 cup sugar
- 6 eggs (beaten )
- 1 cup milk
- 34 cup light cream
- 2 tablespoons kirsch liqueur
- confectioners' sugar (for dusting )
Directions

1Heat the oven to 375 degrees.

2Butter a round baking dish , about 8 inches in diameter, and scatter the cherries in the bottom.

3Combine the flour and sugar in a bowl, then gradually beat in the eggs until smooth.

4Whisk in the milk and cream, then stir in the kirsch.

5Pour this batter over the cherries and bake in the oven for about 50 minutes, until golden and puffed up.

6It should still have a wobble, but a knife inserted in the center should come out clean.

7Serve hot or warm, dusted with confectioners sugar.
