- 1 pt. clams
- 6 slices bacon
- 6 Tbsp. butter
- 5 c. milk
- 3 Tbsp. flour
- 2 medium onions, chopped
- 3 c. diced potatoes
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions

1Chip bacon and onions; fry until brown.

2Put potatoes, bacon and onions in a kettle.

3Cover with just enough water to cook potatoes and clams.

4When done, add clam liquid, milk and seasonings.

5If a thick chowder is desired, make a paste of melted butter and flour and thicken to desired consistency.

6Add butter, salt and pepper.
