  • 2 1/2 c. peeled and cubed potatoes
  • 1 1/2 c. celery, diced
  • 3 cans clams, minced or chopped (with juice)
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 qt. half and half cream or mix even amounts with milk
  • 3/4 c. margarine
  • 3/4 c. flour

Directions

    Pour clams with juice over potatoes and celery; add water just to cover vegetables.

    Boil until tender.

    Drain, except for very small amount (liquid depends on how thick you want chowder).
