Ingredients
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 1 1/2 inch piece salt pork, cubed
- 2 (10 1/2 oz.) cans minced clams
- 2 c. diced and peeled potatoes
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. water
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 qt. scalded milk
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 3 Tbsp. flour to thicken as desired
Directions

1Cook salt pork until crisp; drain.

2Saute onions in drippings. Pour off fat.

3In kettle, combine clam liquid with onions, salt pork, potatoes and water.

4Cover and simmer 10 minutes until potatoes are tender.

5Add clams and scalded milk and butter. Cover and set aside 1 or 2 hours.

6Just before serving, reheat and serve with crackers.
