- 1 large onion
- 1 stalk leek
- 2 lb. raw potatoes
- 1 green pepper
- 3 stalks celery
- 1/4 lb. lean salt pork
- 1/2 lb. butter
- 1 c. flour
- 3 or 4 (6 1/2 oz.) cans minced clams
- 1 qt. half and half
- dash of basil
- 1 tsp. Accent
- 2 (10 1/2 oz.) cans chicken broth
- 2 cans water
Directions

1Brown meat slightly.

2Add vegetables and simmer together in butter.

3Blend in flour (sprinkle over).

4Add clam juice and chicken broth to make 2 quarts.

5Simmer 1/2 hour.

6Add half and half, clams and salt and pepper to taste.

7Makes 3 1/2 to 4 quarts.

8Freezes well.
