  • 2 small cans minced clams
  • 1 c. chopped celery
  • 1 c. chopped onions
  • 2 c. diced potatoes
  • 3/4 c. butter
  • 3/4 c. flour
  • 1 qt. milk
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. sugar

Directions

    In a large pot, put clams, vegetables and clam juice.

    Barely cover with water. Simmer 20 minutes. While that is cooking, take the butter and melt. Add the flour and blend.

    Add the milk, salt, pepper and sugar. Cook like a white sauce and add to clam mixture.

    Cook slowly until thick.
